Only trained personnel should operate CO₂ cylinders.
•
CO₂ does not support life or combustion and can cause suffocation or immediate death without warning.
•
Liquid CO₂, under high pressure, poses risks of cold burns or frostbite.
- In case of exposure to liquid CO₂:
•
Seek immediate medical attention for burns or tissue numbness.
•
Move individuals exposed to CO₂ to fresh air immediately.
•
If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration. For difficulty breathing, provide oxygen and contact emergency services.
- Storage and Transport:
•
Store in well-ventilated areas, away from direct sunlight.
•
Use appropriate equipment for transport and keep cylinders upright do not roll, tip, or manually carry cylinders.
- Operational Precautions:
•
Open valves slowly during use and close them after every use or when empty. Maintain a minimum residual pressure of ≥ 5 bar.
•
Avoid exceeding a cylinder temperature of 52°C.
- Medical Use:
•
Do not use CO₂ for medical purposes unless under a doctors direction.
•
Ensure pressure-reducing devices and other equipment are thoroughly cleaned and certified for CO₂ use.
