Editorial Team & Standards

Every company profile on Yellow Pages Vietnam is collected, checked, classified, edited and published by an editorial team. Businesses do not publish themselves, and they do not edit themselves. This page explains how that works, what we hold ourselves to, and what to do when something is wrong.

Who we are

The editorial department of Viet Business Information & Technology JSC (business registration and tax ID 0104478506), the company that publishes this English edition and the Vietnamese directories in the Yellow Pages network.

We record authorship at organisation level. A company profile is the joint work of the staff who contact the business and the editors who classify and write it — not an individual's article. We therefore do not attach a person's name to a profile that person did not actually edit. A named Content Manager holds accountability for published content, which is a different thing from authorship.

Data discovery

Finds and invites businesses

Works through the industry taxonomy, contacts companies, explains the directory and invites them to be listed. When a company agrees, they settle together what will be published: industry, products and services, capabilities, contact details.

Their work ends at the registration form. This team does not sell advertising.

Commercial team

Same start, then advertising

At the first stage they do exactly what the discovery team does, under the same procedure: find companies, make contact, invite them to be listed.

They continue past the form: advising companies on priority placement, which is the paid advertising service and is governed by a contract.

Editors

Classify, edit, publish

Independent of both teams above. Places each company in the right industry within the standardised taxonomy, edits the company description, groups products and services, and handles images and contact details.

This is the team that publishes a profile, to one common standard.

Every profile passes through a confirmation contact. Even when a company registers directly on the website, a member of the discovery or commercial team calls to go through the information and confirm it with the company before anything is edited and published. No profile reaches the site without that step.

How a profile reaches this English site

Eight steps, with a person at every one of them. The last two are specific to this English edition — they are the reason the site holds a selection rather than everything.

Intake and agreement

The company provides its information and agrees with our staff what will be published.

Identity check

The company's registration details are checked to confirm it is a real, registered business.

Classification

The company is placed in the right industry within a standardised taxonomy of thousands of categories, so that buyers browsing by industry actually find it.

Editing

Editors write the description, group the products and services, and prepare images and contact details to one common standard.

Sent back for confirmation

The prepared profile goes back to the company to review and confirm before it is published.

Publication and periodic update

The profile goes live, and is then reviewed and re-contacted on a periodic cycle so the information does not quietly go stale.

Selection for the English edition English edition

A profile is published here when the business is relevant to FDI enterprises sourcing inside Vietnam or to international buyers sourcing from Vietnam — together with the company's own choice to be listed internationally, given on the registration form or in an advertising contract.

English adaptation English edition

Company details, industry classification and product and service listings are prepared in English for readers who buy in English. The facts are the ones the company confirmed; the language and structure are built for a different reader.

Why companies do not publish themselves

We do not issue accounts for self-publishing or self-editing. Every change goes through the editorial team. This is a deliberate choice, and it costs us something.

Correct industry

Left to themselves, companies tend to tick as many industries as possible to maximise exposure. The result is the opposite: a diluted taxonomy in which buyers cannot find the right supplier.

No duplicates

One company, one profile. Central editing prevents the same business appearing several times with contradictory details.

No content drift

A profile stays a statement of what a company does. It does not become a place for keyword stuffing or advertising copy dressed up as business information.

The trade-off we accept. This is slower than letting companies post their own listings, and it needs more people. We accept that cost because the standardisation is what makes searching by industry and by province genuinely usable — which is the only reason a directory is worth consulting at all.

Principles we hold ourselves to

Accuracy over emphasis

We state what can be checked. Where we are not certain of a figure or a fact, we leave it out rather than round it up.

Describe the mechanism, not the adjective

We explain how something is done instead of applying superlatives such as "number one" or "most trusted" to ourselves.

State the limits plainly

We draw a clear line between what Yellow Pages Vietnam has done and what it has not. Being open about a limit raises confidence rather than lowering it.

Structured data must match the page

We do not declare structured data for information that is not shown on the page, and we do not generate ratings or metrics that do not exist. What a machine reads is what a person reads.

Correct what is wrong

When we are told that something is inaccurate, the editorial team checks and updates it — whether the report comes from the company or from a reader.

Advertising and editorial are separate

Yellow Pages Vietnam sells advertising. So that nobody has to guess where the line falls, here it is.

Advertising affects placement

A profile under an advertising contract is given priority position within the industries and areas it has booked.

Advertising does not affect accuracy

Whether a company advertises or not makes no difference to how its information is edited and checked.

One editorial standard

Profiles without advertising go through the same process and the same industry classification as those with it.

Who is responsible for what

Three layers of responsibility, kept apart rather than blended, so you know exactly what you are reading.

The company

Profile content

Industry, products and services, capabilities and contact details are supplied by the company and are its responsibility.

Yellow Pages — narrow scope

Editing and the Verified mark

We are responsible for editing and publishing, and for confirming the company's identity and registration at the point the mark is issued.

Yellow Pages — not warranted

Quality and transactions

We do not assess or warrant product quality, service quality or the outcome of any transaction, and we are not a party to transactions. Carry out your own checks before you commit.

Profiles without the Verified mark are edited under the same process described above — they have simply not completed the step where the company signs and stamps its confirmation. Read what the Verified mark covers →

Report something inaccurate

If you see information that is wrong — whether it is your own company's profile or one you are researching — tell us and the editorial team will check and update it. Reports are accepted from companies and from readers alike.

Please include the company name and the specific detail that needs correcting, so we can act faster.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a business publish or edit its own profile on Yellow Pages Vietnam?
No. We do not issue accounts that let a business publish or change its own profile. The business supplies and agrees the information, and our editorial team is the party that classifies, edits, publishes and updates it. This is what keeps the directory free of duplicate profiles, wrong industry classifications and advertising copy disguised as business information.
If a business registers online, is its profile published straight away?
No. Even when a business registers directly on the website, a member of staff contacts it to go through and confirm the information before the profile is edited and published. No profile is published without that contact step.
Who writes the company descriptions?
Editors at Yellow Pages Vietnam write them, based on information the company has supplied and agreed. Authorship is recorded at organisation level — the Yellow Pages Vietnam Editorial Team — rather than under an individual byline, because a profile is the joint work of the staff who deal with the company and the editors who classify and write it.
Does advertising influence editorial content?
No. Advertising affects placement: a profile under an advertising contract is given priority position within its industry and area. It does not change how information is checked or edited, and profiles without advertising go through the same process and the same industry classification.
Why are some Vietnamese companies missing from the English site?
Because this English edition publishes a selected part of the network database rather than all of it. A company appears here when its business is relevant to FDI enterprises sourcing inside Vietnam or to international buyers, and when the company itself has chosen to be listed internationally. Companies serving only the domestic Vietnamese market are found on our Vietnamese directories instead.
Who is responsible for the information in a company profile?
Industry, products, services, capabilities and contact details are supplied by the company and are the company's responsibility. Yellow Pages Vietnam is responsible for editing and publishing, and for the Verified mark within its stated scope. We do not assess or warrant the quality of products, services or the outcome of any transaction, and we are not a party to transactions between buyers and suppliers.
How often are profiles reviewed and updated?
The editorial team reviews profiles and contacts companies to update them on a periodic cycle, typically annually. A company can also request an update at any time by phone or email.
How do I report information that is wrong?
Email [email protected] or call +84 24 3636 9512, extension 312, or +84 914 261 828. The editorial team checks and updates the information. Reports are accepted from the company that owns the profile and from users consulting it alike.
