- The process of producing Sorbic Acid from a Polyester obtained by the reaction of Crotonaldehyde with Ketene and using the organic acid zinc salt as a catalyst, which includes the process of dissolving the Polyester in a Hydrocarbon solvent, soluble in water. from 92° to 100°C, after washing Polyester with water or acid to remove zinc and continued contact with strongly acidic solutions, ion exchange, the process is simple.

- Sorbic Acid can effectively inhibit the activity of mold, yeast and Aerophile bacteria. Obstructing the growth and reproduction of harmful microorganisms such as Pseudomonas, Sorbic Acid prolongs the storage time of food while still retaining its originality. It is used as a food preservative.
