- A Fructose (levulose) molecule has six carbon atoms, twelve hydrogen atoms, and six oxygen atoms that are commonly found in nature. It is made from corn. Take the corn and grind it into cornmeal. Then a starch-degrading enzyme is added, which turns the starch into glucose. Glucose is then converted to Fructose. It undergoes crystallization, isomerization and dehydration.
