Metal Punching Service
Introduction
Metal punching is a process to create profiled holes in sheet or sheet metal. A typical punch and die set includes a punch of the desired shape for the hole and a suitable die to engage it. The punch is aligned with the die by an integrated guide or as part of the machine setup. The embryo is placed between the two. An impact or pressure on the punch then shears the material at the edges of the punch, pushing the material out of the workpiece and leaving a hole of a predetermined shape. It has the same industrial strength as a paper punch.
Nhat Nam offers excellent sheet metal punching services. Our CNC punching service features a wide ion of materials to meet customer requirements. We serve a broad range of industries and consumer products manufacturing/development sectors and more. Our team of experts can meet all of your sheet metal perforating requirements.
Capabilities
This process can be used to create holes in sheet metal or in metal parts and components, and the holes can be many shapes from traditional round or square to customized shapes and sizes.
Our machine (Pega 357) provides 33 tons of punching force and can process 50″ x 144″ sheets with a single repositioning cycle. The Pega’s mechanical ram ensures tighter tolerances, extended tool and machine life, superior edge quality and accuracy. It provides a maximum 350 hits per minute, with 200 hits on one-inch centers.
It is a high-volume manufacturer of short-run sheet metal parts. It enables efficient part manufacturing with minimal setup and maximum machine utilization. Its forming capabilities help to eliminate secondary operations. Its hydraulic clutch and brake system ensures consistent and stable punching over long production runs while also reducing noise.

Insert
For custom enclosures or parts, self-clinching fasteners are probably the most useful hardware components at a designer’s disposal. They solve a whole host of challenges when it comes to mounting components, and because of their compact design and low profile, they provide excellent aesthetics as well. Themost popular are PEMS Fasteners.
If you require a fastener we don’t stock, contact us – we’d be happy to source what you need, for added lead time and cost.

Application
Metal punching is the creation of shaped holes in metal sheets or plates using a punch and die set. It is a versatile and common method with various applications across nearly all industries. Here are some common uses of metal punching:
Hole Creation
Metal punching is most used for making holes of various sizes and shapes in metal sheets or plates. These holes can be for facilitating assembly, ventilation, drainage, or allowing the passage of cables, wires, or pipes.
Perforated Sheets
The process can be used to create perforated sheets with a pattern of regularly spaced holes. Perforations are used for decorative and functional purposes in architecture, interior design, filtration, acoustics, etc.
