Characteristics: A granular material in black, loose, angular particles with a smooth, glossy surface.

Particle Size: (3.0 – 5.0) mm

Functions:

• Featuring a high void fraction (>50%), this material offers significant sediment retention capacity.

• Effectively treats highly turbid water, promoting faster water clarification, extending filtration cycles, and reducing backwashing durations.

Applications:

• Ideally combined with other mechanical filtration media such as sand and gravel in rapid and slow filtration systems of water treatment plants.

• Suitable for industrial, urban, and domestic wastewater treatment facilities.

• Particularly efficient in countercurrent filtration and large-scale pond water treatment, ensuring high filtration capacity.
