EXPORTING VIETNAMESE COFFEE
1. Introduction
Vietnams coffee exports in recent years are still considered a key industry, making a large contribution to the total export turnover of agricultural products of Vietnam. However, with the lack of a big brand, a lack of standard production and processing processes to meet the requirements in importing countries are the major barriers in Vietnams coffee exports. That inadvertently makes us waste the abundant potential of coffee.
Vietnams coffee output is extremely abundant and abundant. Coffee in Vietnam has two main types: Robusta and Arabica, of which Robusta accounts for the largest proportion of production.
\
Robusta coffee is grown mainly concentrated in DakLak, Lam Dong, Dak Nong and Gia Lai. Therefore, the output here is very high and plays a leading role in business, production and export processing.
2. Coffee export standards
- How to rank export coffee standard

General Department of Standardization, Measurement and Quality Proposal. Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment issued.
- Test methods:
Sampling: according to TCVN 5702-1993
Determination of percentage of beans infested by insects: according to TCVN 6601: 2000 (ISO 6667: 1985)
Determining beans size: according to TCVN 4807: 2001 (ISO 4150: 1991)
Basically, each batch of coffee needs to take a number of samples - different sample volumes.
For example: Lot of 5 bags of coffee needs to take 1 sample in each bag. But a lot of 100 bags of coffee requires only about 10 samples.
After sampling, we conduct analysis - identify defective particles and defective particles. Each type of error has its own number of points.
Since then, classifying coffee quality into special category, class 1,2,3,4,5.
In addition to counting errors, we also classify according to size based on the sieve hole. The test sample will be sifted on the sieve and then reviewed for proportions.
3. What is type 1 coffee export?
Type 1 coffee exports must simultaneously meet the standards such as at least 90% on screen 18, moisture content <12%, error rate <1%, impurities <0.1%, uniform and beautiful beans. is the highest standard, the most beautiful grain.
