Itinerary Overview
Day 1 – Dien Bien Phu Historical Sites & Thai Culture
Arrival at Dien Bien Phu airport. Visits to key battle sites: cemetery, museum, Hill A1, Muong Thanh Bridge, De Castries’ bunker, artillery base, Victory Statue. Transfer to Muong Phang to explore General Vo Nguyen Giap’s wartime headquarters and tunnels. Overnight at a local homestay.
Day 2 – Dien Bien → Quynh Nhai Reservoir
Breakfast at homestay, drive via Tuan Giao to Quynh Nhai. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit Pa Uon Bridge (Vietnam’s tallest bridge). Optional trip to Ban Bon hot spring, admire White Thai villages and rice fields. Overnight at Mai Vom homestay near the lake.
Day 3 – Cruise on Quynh Nhai Reservoir
Boat trip on Quynh Nhai reservoir (nicknamed “Inland Ha Long Bay”). Stops at Heart Island, cave pagodas, Uy Phong Bay, Binh Yen Bay. Activities include kayaking, swimming, relaxing, and lunch at a floating restaurant. Overnight in Quynh Nhai.
Day 4 – Cruise to Muong Lay Town
Morning cruise along reservoir to Muong Lay Town, passing mountains, villages, and King Tran Temple. Lunch on board. Afternoon leisure in Muong Lay. Overnight in town.
Day 5 – Muong Lay → Dien Bien → Hanoi
Breakfast, morning walk around Muong Lay, check-out. Transfer back to Dien Bien Phu for flight to Hanoi. Tour ends.
