Visitors can visit the Dien Bien Phu Museum, which provides detailed information about the battle and its impact on Vietnams history. Additionally, the A1 Hill and the War Cemetery are important sites that pay tribute to the soldiers who fought in the battle.
Minority Customs: Muong Phang is a beautiful valley located 30 km away from Dien Bien Phu city. It is great place with harmonious landscapes, green mountain ranges, rice terraces and Black Thai ethnic villages.
Natural Sceneries: Quynh Nhai reservoir is surrounded by green forests and limestone mountain ranges, which add to the scenic beauty of the area. Itinerary Overview
Day 1 – Dien Bien Phu Historical Sites & Thai Culture
Arrival at Dien Bien Phu airport, visit key battle sites: cemetery, museum, Hill A1, Muong Thanh Bridge, De Castries’ bunker, artillery base, Victory Statue. Transfer to Muong Phang, explore General Vo Nguyen Giap’s wartime headquarters and tunnels. Overnight at a local homestay with optional traditional music and dance show.
Day 2 – Dien Bien → Quynh Nhai Reservoir
Breakfast at homestay, drive via Tuan Giao to Quynh Nhai. Lunch at local restaurant, visit Pa Uon Bridge (Vietnam’s tallest bridge). Optional trip to Ban Bon hot spring, enjoy swimming and relaxing amidst Thai villages and rice fields. Overnight at Mai Vom homestay near the reservoir.
Day 3 – Quynh Nhai Reservoir Cruise → Dien Bien
Morning boat cruise on Quynh Nhai reservoir (nicknamed “Inland Ha Long Bay”), visit Heart Island, cave pagodas, enjoy kayaking, swimming, and eco-tourism at Uy Phong Bay. Lunch, then return drive to Dien Bien Phu. Overnight in Dien Bien.
Day 4 – Dien Bien → Hanoi
Breakfast, free time for shopping, then transfer to airport for flight back to Hanoi. Tour ends.
