MAGNETIC GRIDS
1. What’s a Magnetic Grids?
Magnetic Grid (also known as Magnetic Grate or Grate Magnet) is a magnetic separation device made up of several magnetic bars arranged in parallel or cross patterns within a grid frame.

2. Operating Principle
As materials flow through the grid, ferromagnetic impurities are attracted and held on the surface of the magnetic bars, effectively preventing metal contamination, protecting downstream equipment, and ensuring product purity.

3. Applications
They are used for applications in the plastics, food, pharmaceutical, ceramics and other industries. In the hopper of your injection moulding machine, for protection of your installation or as final inspection of your product, e.g. just prior to bagging.
4. Types of Magnetic Grids
► Manual cleaning magnetic grids
With only one stainless steel protective layer, cleaning requires manual removal of the trapped iron particles from the magnetic bars using hands or tools. This process is known as manual cleaning—suitable for systems with low material flow or those that require periodic maintenance.

► Quick cleaning magnetic grids
When cleaning, simply pull out the second stainless steel sleeve from the magnetic grid. The iron particles on the outer surface will lose magnetism and fall off automatically, allowing quick, safe cleaning without direct contact with the magnets. Then, wipe the stainless steel surface lightly to complete the process.

► Manual cleaning cleanflow magnets
Equipped with strong neodymium magnetic bars. They filter small ferrous contaminants from powders and granulates in free fall and low-pressure transport pipes. Because the magnetic bars are placed inside the product flow, optimal magnetic contact and optimal removal of ferrous contamination is achieved.

► Quick cleaning cleanflow magnets
The magnetic grids with very strong neodymium magnetic bars are positioned in the middle of the product flow. The product with ferrous contaminants always passes 2 magnetic bars while flowing through the separator. The magnets attract passing ferrous particles. The captured particles stick to the magnets, while the purified product flows further.

Once the product flow is stopped, you take the entire magnetic grid unit out of the product channel. Then pull the magnetic bars out of the extractor tubes, causing the ferrous particles to fall off the extractor tubes.
► Automatic cleaning magnetic separator
This is the only rotary Cleanflow type that does not require a production stop to discharge the filtered ferrous contaminants. Due to the automatic time-controlled discharging of ferrous particles, it is suitable for product flows with a relatively much ferrous contamination.
