Turmeric is a valuable medicinal plant primarily harvested for its rhizomes. The finest product derived from turmeric is de-oiled turmeric starch with a high curcumin concentration, beneficial for health and beauty purposes.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ORGANIC TURMERIC STARCH
Step 1: Harvested turmeric is pre-processed by separating the branches, trimming excess roots, washing thoroughly to remove soil and sand from the peel, and rinsing multiple times with clean water before draining.
Step 2: The turmeric is finely ground using grinding machines.
Step 3: The ground turmeric undergoes centrifugal filtration to separate the pulp, collecting turmeric starch liquid. The residual turmeric pulp is bagged and returned to the cultivation area for composting as fertilizer for the next crop. The water used in this process is clean water treated via an industrial filtration system meeting QCVN 01 standards.
Step 4: From the turmeric starch liquid, a stirring machine mixes the starch with clean water, followed by sedimentation and removal of water, oil resin, and impurities. This process, involving daily water replacement, is repeated four times until the starch is free from oil resin and impurities.
Step 5: The semi-solid turmeric starch is spread thinly on fabric trays for draining. It is then placed in a smart drying system that retains the traditional color, distinctive aroma, and high curcumin content.
Step 6: The dried turmeric starch is finely ground into fine powder
Step 7: The final product is sealed in packaging with complete labeling and traceability information before dispatch. It should be stored in a dry place, away from direct sunlight.
