SERVICE OF PACKING, UNLOADING,
AND MOVING MACHINERY
Proper packing in logistics is crucial to ensure goods arrive safely at their destination. Even for short-distance domestic transportation, goods can be affected by environmental factors such as air, humidity, light, rain, sun, and wind. Whether goods are transported in a closed truck or a tightly sealed container, they are still susceptible to climatic conditions. For instance, when containers travel from Vietnam to Europe or America, the differing climates between continents can create condensation inside the container, potentially causing significant damage, especially to electronic products, components, and machinery.
At Intertrans, our export packaging service goes beyond standard packing. We provide specialized advice and comprehensive packaging solutions tailored to our customers needs. We focus on packing large and heavy items like machinery and project equipment in wooden crates for both domestic transport and export. Additionally, we specialize in unloading and moving imported machinery to your factory.
The Importance of Packaging
— Customer Perception: Regardless of the quality of the goods, improper packaging can lead to a negative perception when the items reach the customer.
— Product Quality: High-quality goods can deteriorate without proper packaging, leading to poor quality in the hands of consumers.
— Shipping Partner Requirements: Proper packaging is crucial to finding the right shipping partner. Companies like Intertrans may not accept poorly packaged goods, as they could be damaged during transit, leading to unexpected losses and compensation issues.
— Export Standards: Some goods must meet specific packaging standards to be eligible for export.
— Fines and Penalties: Improperly packed goods can lead to fines for shipping lines if damage occurs to their containers.
— Handling Difficulties: Large items like machinery and industrial equipment require proper packaging to facilitate safe lifting, loading, and unloading.
— Cost Efficiency: Smart and scientific packaging can optimize costs related to lifting and transportation.
Types of Export Packing
— Technological and Electronic Goods: Items such as computers, phones, washing machines, and air conditioners require packaging that offers strong impact and moisture resistance.
— Fragile Goods: Items like glass and ceramics need careful packaging to prevent breakage.
— Cosmetics and Food Products: These require specific packaging to maintain their quality.
— Heavy Machinery and Equipment: Large and heavy items need robust packaging solutions.
Additionally, other types of goods often require packing before shipping, except for bulk materials like iron ore, clinker, sand, gravel, and steel, which may have less stringent packing requirements.
At Intertrans, we excel in packing equipment and machinery, ensuring they are protected during transportation and export.
Packing for Export Goods
— Wooden Crates and Pallets: These must be appropriately sized to fit the goods, avoiding unnecessary weight and volume that could increase shipping costs.
— Fumigation: All wooden components, including pallets and plywood, must be fumigated by a third party and stamped accordingly.
— Secure Fixing: Goods should be firmly fixed on the pallet base and fully cushioned within the wooden crate.
— Protection: Sensitive areas should be wrapped with foam or bubble wrap, with moisture-proof packaging inside. The package should then be sealed with foil or nylon bags, vacuum-sealed, and heat-sealed. A hygrometer should ensure the humidity does not exceed 20%, conforming to ISPM15 standards.
— Crate Construction: Wooden crates should be well-constructed, with all corners covered. Crates must be tightly strapped with plastic or steel belts, using nail guns and, where necessary, bolts to ensure stability, particularly at the pallet base where the load is concentrated.
— Labeling: Finished crates should be labeled with all necessary information to guide lifting and lowering during transportation, and stamped or sealed at the corners for security.
The Packing Process at Intertrans
— Request Submission: Customers send a request, including a list of equipment and machines with details such as name, characteristics, weight, size, and volume. Providing specific images of each item is beneficial.
— Planning: Intertrans calculates and plans the packing for each item, potentially combining suitable equipment to optimize shipping costs.
— Quotation: Upon agreement with the plan, we provide a detailed quote.
— Contract Signing: Once the quote is accepted, a contract is signed. Intertrans then sends a specialist to survey the equipment and its location.
— Crating: Crates are prepared at Intertranss warehouse and then transported to the factory, or packing is done directly at the factory. We typically aim to do most of the work at our facility and complete assembly at the customers site.
— Quality Control: Intertrans specialists monitor and check the quality daily, ensuring each crate meets the specified export packing standards until completion and acceptance.
— Transport and Customs: We arrange forklifts, cranes, and trucks for moving and transportation if the customer continues to use our services. We also handle customs procedures for exporting the shipment.

Service of Unloading and Moving Machinery and Equipment
At Intertrans, we specialize in the professional service of moving equipment and machinery, catering primarily to foreign corporations constructing factories in Vietnams industrial zones. Our comprehensive service includes customs clearance, transportation from the port to the factory, and unloading and relocating equipment to the specified location within the factory.
With 15 years of experience, our machine moving team is well-versed in handling super-long and super-heavy equipment and machinery in industrial zones. We are equipped with heavy forklifts ranging from 10 to 15 tons for lifting and lowering large crates. For more substantial needs, we partner with other specialists to provide 50 to 90-ton super heavy-duty cranes for moving heavy machinery.
Once the machinery is lowered to the ground using forklifts and cranes, we utilize specialized turtle dollies to maneuver the equipment to the designated spot within the factory. Our turtle dollies can handle loads up to 100 tons, ensuring safe and precise placement of machinery.
The service fee for unloading and moving machinery is calculated based on the list of equipment and the moving location. After our experts conduct a site survey at your factory, we provide an official quotation for the service.
