1. Product introduction:
- TANSOME® is the first high-performance carbon fiber developed in Korea, and its name describes its purpose: to create added value by combining "tanning"—the burning stage in the carbon fiber manufacturing process—and "something special."

- Carbon fiber is 75% lighter than steel but 10 times stronger. It is an advanced material attracting attention for its ability to increase energy efficiency through weight reduction. The global market demand for carbon fiber is growing more than 10% annually.
- Carbon fiber is increasingly gaining attention as a core material for weight reduction due to growing worldwide interest in energy efficiency. Comprising over 92% carbon, carbon fiber is an advanced material 10 times stronger than steel, while its density is only one-fourth that of steel.
- Hyosung has developed Koreas first high-performance carbon fibers: TANSOME® (tensile strength 5.5 GPa and tensile modulus over 250 GPa) and the intermediate modulus type TANSOME® (tensile strength 5.5 GPa and tensile modulus over 290 GPa). These fiber types account for over 70% of the total worldwide market demand and are widely used as core product lines in various industries, including aerospace, high-performance industries, and sports & leisure.
- To meet the annual global growth in carbon fiber demand, currently over 12%, Hyosung will continuously increase its annual production capacity from the current 2,000 tons and plans to become a leader in carbon fiber production by 2025.
