Clean Bench
What is a clean bench?
A clean bench, also known as a biological culture cabinet, biological safety cabinet, or tissue culture cabinet, is a vital piece of equipment designed to prevent contamination during operations on biological samples and materials sensitive to dust particles. The system works by drawing air through a HEPA filter and introducing it into the working chamber, ensuring a sterile environment.
Key Features of a Clean Bench
✓ Sterile Air Environment
The clean bench creates sterile air within the working chamber, protecting cultured products from contaminants. It also generates negative pressure in front of the operator, safeguarding them from potential infections.
✓ Contaminant Control
In addition to protecting the operator, the clean bench filters exhaust air to prevent contamination of the external environment.
Durable and User-Friendly Design
- Material: The interior is made of stainless steel for easy cleaning and durability, with two glass sides for enhanced visibility.
- Sliding Door: The door slides up and down and is self-balancing, allowing it to stop at any position or close completely.
- Status Indicators: The cabinet includes a light to indicate the working status of the filter and an alert system (bell and light) for when the filter needs replacement.
Technical Specifications
➡ Cabinet Cover: Made of 3mm thick iron plate with powder coating and beveled edges using a CNC machine for operator safety and ease of cleaning.
➡ Side Panels: Constructed from 8mm thick tempered glass for durability and visibility.
➡ Working Surface: Made of 1.2mm thick 304 stainless steel for easy cleaning and long-term use.
➡ Coarse Filter: Mounted on top of the cabinet to filter out large dust particles and is easily cleanable.
➡ HEPA Filter: Measures 1100x400x75mm and is 99.99% effective at filtering dust particles as small as 0.3µm.
➡ UV Sterilization Lights: Two UV lights are positioned before and after the HEPA filter for added sterilization.
➡ Fluorescent Lighting: Positioned at the front of the cabinet to prevent glare during operation.
➡ Controls: Switches to control lights, UV lights, and exhaust fans.
➡ Easy Maintenance: The front part of the cabinet can be opened easily, making cleaning and maintenance straightforward.
