Product details
Single-layer film packaging is produced by feeding PE or PP resin pellets into the extrusion–blowing machine to create tubular film, which is then sized to form bags such as supermarket packaging or fruit bags. With small printing quantities, silk-screen printing is typically used for larger volumes starting from 10,000 bags, gravure cylinders with chemical etching technology are applied (printing cylinders mounted on the extrusion/blowing machine), generally for simple one–two–three-color separations. For more premium printing, halftone screening is required similar to laminated packaging, engraving gravure cylinders on an electronic engraving machine—printing 5 colors or more on a high-end gravure printing system.
Packaging for rice, fertilizer, cement, animal feed is produced by: extruding PP resin into film, slitting into yarns, winding onto multiple cores, and weaving into tubular fabric, which is then fed into bottom-stitching machines. After filling the product, the remaining end is stitched closed. For certain applications, an inner PELD layer is laminated to ensure proper preservation.
Both packaging types (a + b) employ simple technology. Upon purchasing machinery, training and technology transfer are provided within 10 days. Hence, many manufacturers across the country produce these single-layer packages, and the investment cost is significantly lower than laminated packaging. Due to intense competition, profit margins for single-layer film packaging are naturally very low.
